Susan Dey cannot join the rest of his castmates as the former Partridge Family reunites on Tuesday morning, NBC’s Today Show. Partridge Family appearance marks the second installment of the Today Show’s “Great TV Families reunited” series, which features a popular television family reunion after many decades. On Monday, a majority of the eight were featured enough, but Adam Rich, who played the lovable Nicholas Bradford show. No reason was given in the absence of Rich, but the former child star has been fighting substance abuse and a legal problem was suspended after eight is sufficient.
Unlike Adam Rich, in contrast to his TV brother, Danny Bonaduce, Susan Dey was, at least publicly, without the problems of life so often plague the child stars. Dey was a big television star (and the object of adolescent lust) at the time of its launch Laurie Partridge, and then went to an even greater role to play in his fame, Judge Grace Van Owen in the 1980′s hit drama LA Law. While Dey was popular among the boys (and girls) during the Partridge Family, LA Law was his role as critics of his sweetheart.
After its run ended in LA Law in the early 1990s, however, Dey has maintained a relatively low profile. Dey role of television in the past, when in fact it was in 2004 when he appeared in two episodes of Third Watch.
For more than two eras and the star who did it perfectly, and one who seemed to be a scandal free life, personal life, actress Susan Dey was that seemed to predict a going concern forever. Beautiful, talented and blessed, even show business, Dey was a “sure thing” written all of his. The fact that he has not had a major role, since the death of LA Law is one of the great mysteries of modern entertainment.
It could be that Susan Dey decided to duck out to enjoy the limelight with her husband. It could be that he just tired of business. It may be that the bids did not meet the five most assumed that they would be.
